Rise Up For Youth Announces New Partnership with Real Men Real Heroes
Rise Up For Youth Inc. (RU4Y) and Real Men Real Heroes (RMRH) announce their partnership to provide continued support through mentorship of youth in the Wichita community. Real Men Real Heroes has served youth through programs and mentorship since 2006. Kyle Ellison the Executive Director has shared, “that the focus of their program is with elementary and middle schoolers in Wichita”. This “partnership creates a natural pipeline to the Rise Up For Youth high school program”, said Dr. Shareika Fisher RU4Y Executive Director. The middle schools in which Real Men Real Heroes serves in the district directly feed into the six high schools that Rise Up For Youth serves in Sedgwick County. This partnership is mutually beneficial for both organizations as the eighth graders graduate from the RMRH organization they can continue to build on that foundation while having the opportunity to continue mentorship through high school with RU4Y.
Both organizations have established great rapport in the community and with the ages of youth they each serve. Each organization will remain separate entities while strategically working together to provide intentional programs for the developmental stages of the young men they serve. Additionally, the sibling referral program between both organizations will assist in the recruitment efforts of each program; while the pipeline model will assist in the retention of the young men through the collaborative efforts. Ellison said, “this model provides a structure that is simple for the boys and their parents”. Dr. Fisher shared the excitement for the partnership in hopes, “to leverage resources that strengthens the programs and provides greater opportunities for the youth in a strategic and mutually beneficial way for all stakeholders”.
The two organizations have started to work together this fall and will continue to develop the partnership in the future.
