Rise Up For Youth Announces New Executive Director
Rise Up For Youth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving students in the Wichita community to unlock their full potential. After an intensive search, Rise Up For Youth is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Shareika Fisher as its new Executive Director. Dr. Fisher follows the previous Executive Director, Ariel Rodriguez-Williams, who left the organization in March for a new professional opportunity as Executive Director for Empower Evergreen.
“We are excited to have Dr. Fisher taking on the role as executive director for Rise Up For Youth,” says Lynn GIlkey, Co-Founder. “We look forward to working with Dr. Fisher as she leads Rise Up for Youth to meet our promise and fulfill our mission to the students.”
Both the Board and staff have been impressed with Dr. Fisher’s background and the vision she shares with us for moving the organization forward. “Dr. Fisher brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise that will help to propel us to greater heights, and I feel we are blessed to have Dr. Fisher join the Rise Up For Youth family,” says William Polite, Board Member.
Dr. Fisher is currently the assistant director of First Year Programs at Wichita State University. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Education in College Student Personnel.
“I am excited about joining the team at Rise Up for Youth. It is not every day that you get to work with such a passionate team of professionals who are really making a difference and impact directly with the students,” says Dr. Fisher.
Dr. Fisher will start her role as Executive Director on June 14, 2021.
